Advancing the science and practice of tobacco
control in Canada
The Interdisciplinary Capacity
Enhancement (ICE) program is an initiative of the Canadian Tobacco
Control Research Initiative, the Canadian Institutes
of Health Research, the National Cancer Institute
of Canada, the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart
and Stroke Foundation of Canada and Health Canada. Three
teams of Canadian researchers were funded in 2003
to:
- support innovative, transdisciplinary, collaborative
research in tobacco control;
- build capacity for the next generation of
tobacco control researchers; and,
- enhance the use of research to improve tobacco
control policies and practices in Canada and
beyond.
What’s on this Site
This site is a portal to each of the three ICE
projects.
- To find out more about each ICE
team, click on ICE teams.
- You
can find important documents such as research
papers, presentations and products produced
by ICE teams and investigators under Research-based
Products.
- ICE investigators and members
can find information to help them prepare
grants, contracts, manuscripts and presentations
by visiting the Tools
for Researchers Section (membership required).
- To find out more about the ICE Seed Grant
Program or the ICE Learning Opportunities Program go to Upcoming
Research Opportunities.
- You
can also use the ICE site as your link
to the Annual
Invitational Symposium for Research to Inform
Tobacco Control, an annual event that brings
together investigators, trainees and decision
makers to discuss and learn from each.
